Illustrated in a Short History Along with the wheel and the invention of the printing press, personal computers stand proud as one of the AMAZING LEAPS in the evolution of mankind. The reasons are obvious. Its implications are evident and ubiquitous. Never before has it been SO EASY to play Patience and Minesweeper in the office environment. But one must look beyond the more revolutionary aspects of the impact of the personal computer to areas that may currently be of minor impact but that may later be of great importance. When the first computer ever made sparkled into life here in the rainy city of Manchester and swiftly gave its first General Protection fault, we little thought of the implications to come. How could we imagine that soon companies all over the world would be investing daily in new hardware, new software systems, updating hardware for increased performances, rehashing and repackaging legacy systems to keep them limping along. Network 23 would like to reach back into time past all the industrial disputes, all the bungled system installations, past the thousands of hours lost to computer failure, to thank that early team of researchers for developing a project that has changed the way we work, has changed the way we live and has above all provided us all within the industry with a very comfortable living indeed. Long may the Information Revolution continue. Many view this revolution as a distraction, saying that the actual content of many of the pages in existence on the World Wide Web are needlessly specialised and detract from the real issues at hand in the world today. Such issues as the exponential population explosion and the increasing alienation that society feels from the Establishment that regulates it. However this overlooks many bonuses, including the fact that you can get marvellous information and advice on Goldfish. Now...
Here is some further information on Network 23.
