translate a little - Network 23 aims to use culture jamming techniques
to de-program many of the big lies that surround us, lies perpetuated
and constantly drummed into us by our education system, our employment
system and by the thousands of commercial message we receive every
day. So what's the new site going to do? Specifically - it aims to try to give some services to free party people interested in using the internet - like a good mailing list service that can be flexed to anyone's needs - and the use of database web sites to put together quite large and easily searchable web sites. We're also going to use internet technology to make it easy for people to get information and link up with others involved in positve projects, for example environmental projects, DIY music projects, positive social projects anthing that helps people to live and work together with out destroying the planet and eachother. Oh yes, you say very hippyfied. Well we're also full on, motivated people that won't let anything stand in our way. We're committed but we're human and as such we understand the importance of linking up with other people on the same mission as you so you don't feel like a bit of a freak. When you think how commecially minded and just straight up selfish loads of people are these days - it's really quite important! What's the Point? For a more twisted and rambling version, read on. The point has never been to have a point - it's a pointless thing isn't it constantly redifineing what you are and where you are going. What's the point in having a point. Mostly there are things to do and things to do them with. You can argue yourself in and out of various universes navigation mostly your own sphinters in attempts to tell your self that nothing is worth doing and really it's all rather pointless for after all we nothing but carbon based life forms of a particularly temporary lifespan. That's just about as much bullshit as you can read - but there you go. Making sense of life today ain't easy. Once you've de-programmed the big lies that keep us stupid and tame - For a lot of us it's all about treading a fine line between maintaining the community we need - and avoiding the traps that we can recognise but which society pushes us towards with such gleeful abandon, that to ignore seems churlish. You can't realise that you cake is causing the suffering of others and still expect it to taste nice when you eat it! So that's where the double thinks starts to come in.
